Irrelevant Aldama Grizzlies suffer second straight loss

MADRID, Jan 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish forward Santi Aldama went without scoring on an insignificant night, in which the Memphis Grizzlies added their second consecutive loss (112-110) at the hands of the Phoenix Suns to stop their power in the West , while Juancho Hernángomez contributed with a rebound to the victory (125-116) of the Toronto Raptors over the New York Knicks and they dream of ‘Play-Off’.

The Canarian player enjoyed 12 minutes on the field, adding 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 steal in his smallest game of the season. He missed his three attempts from the perimeter and, like his entire team, he was not connected. Ja Morant’s 27 points and Desmond Bane’s 24 were for naught, with up to three players over 20 at the Suns celebrating the return of Chris Paul.

The loss, in a duel in which Phoenix was able to manage the advantage of the first two quarters, leaves the Grizzlies somewhat affected, already second in the West (31-15) after falling for the second consecutive game. For their part, the Suns have chained three victories in a row and are already seeking the ‘Play-Off’.

Finally, Juancho Hernangómez was more of a protagonist for the Raptors, but without scoring. His defensive rebound contribution down the stretch was instrumental in keeping Toronto one place away from promotion to enter the title games. Fred VanVleet (28 points) and Paskal Siakam (24) were the most scoring in the Canadian franchise, to neutralize the complete game of RJ Barrett (30) at the Knicks.

–SPANISH PLAYER STATISTICS:

JUANCHO HERNANGÓMEZ: 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

SANTI ALDAMA: 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 interception.
