Puerto Morelos.- Syndicate taxi operator Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, with number 3073, died this morning after hitting a “godmother” type trailer, which had been broken down since early yesterday morning and without signs, in front of the Crococun theme park, at the height of the Hilton hotel.
The fatal accident happened on federal road 307 between Crococun and Bahía Petempich, when the operator of the taxi with the number 3073 collided with a godmother trailer.
From the strong impact, the taxi was thrown against the shoulder, with the front part destroyed after hitting the heavy unit.
The events were reported to the 911 emergency line, where the drivers sought help from emergency forces who could do nothing more for the female taxi driver, who lost her life at the scene, after the impact.
Among the factors that contributed to causing this tragedy were the lack of signage from the trailer, since the place was not lit, aggravated by the dark color of the heavy unit, among others.
The National Guard Highways Division, as well as expert services attached to the State Attorney General’s Office, are working on the scene; traffic is completely halted after the accident, so drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution.
