kenny omega returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 17 after four years away from Japanese wrestling. The Canadian wrestler defeated Will Ospreay to become the IWGP United States Champion, and only two days after his victory he made it clear in an interview that would like to face Shingo Takagi in the future.

Takagi, the next contender for Kazuchika Okada’s IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, responded to Omega’s words in a video from his personal Youtube channel, and it seems that also interested by organizing a face-to-face competition:

“Kenny Omega, the United States Champion, mentioned my name as a strong opponent, but time is running out if we keep saying ‘let’s do it someday’. If the fans want to see it and Kenny wants to fight, I want us to. before the end of the year”.

So, Shingo Takagi don’t want to postpone this gripping fight more than necessary, and made clear his desire to face Kenny Omega this year 2023.
