MEXICO.- Within the framework of economic diplomacy actions promoted by the State Government, the Honorary President of the Board of Directors of the State System for the Integral Development of the Family (SEDIF), Gabriela Bonilla Parada and the Secretary of economy, Olivia Salomón, attended the inauguration of the exhibition “Original Views”, organized by the Embassy of Canada in Mexico, within the framework of the Tenth Summit of North American Leaders.

This diplomatic act was chaired by Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, wife of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, wife of the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.

With the exhibition “Original Views”, which will remain until April at the National Museum of World Cultures, a tribute is paid, through the work of the artist Citlali Haro, to 12 indigenous women from Canada and Mexico, whose social work contributes to the advancement of the rights of indigenous communities of both nations. This defense is maintained as public policy in the state government, with President Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina.

The honorary president of the SEDIF board of directors, Gabriela Bonilla, and the head of the Ministry of Economy have agreed to highlight the importance of these events in which the image of indigenous women, both Mexican and Canadian, is strengthened, and the struggle for respect for their rights within the framework of a policy of inclusion that prevails in both countries.

During the event, they lived with Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, Canadian Ambassador to Mexico, Graeme Clark and Alejandra Frausto, Federal Government Culture Secretary.

In addition, as part of the North American Leaders Summit, they had the opportunity to greet the first lady of the United States, Jill Biden.
