Toluca, Edoméx.- The Women Entrepreneurs Coordinating Council met with the Minister of Small Business, Export Promotion and International Trade of Canada, Mary Ng, with the aim of proposing an alliance that enables the inclusive and integral development of businesses run by women in both countries.
The objective of the meeting was to advance women’s empowerment, business promotion, training and regulatory and export investment facilities. Mary Ng highlighted that this is one of the top priorities of the Canadian government, seeking an innovative regional economy in which women move more than $6 trillion in investments.
With 30 years of trade relations between the three northern countries, this is a defining moment to seek out new opportunities and increase the $1.9 trillion that flows annually in trade between the three countries.
A delegation of 15 representatives of business organizations from the State of Mexico participated in the meeting that will follow up on the individual approach between Canadian and Mexican companies, taking advantage of the territorial proximity and business options established by the TMEC.
María de Lourdes Medina Ortega, President of the Coordinating Council of Women Entrepreneurs of the State of Mexico, pointed out that today more than ever, expanding alliances and entering international markets is a tangible opportunity for women. and businesses in general.
“This is an undeniable opportunity to expand the markets that Mexican products reach, to establish levels of competition and competitiveness that increase the production capacity and income of our companies, therefore a need to be met in this stage is to negotiate a specific chapter for small businesses and to modernize and improve competitive relations between the three countries”
The meeting takes place within the framework of the Summit of North American Leaders (CLAN) which takes place this week with the presence of the leaders of Mexico, the United States and Canada
