Canadian Mining Company to Start New Uranium Exploration in Argentina | The most important news and analysis from Latin America | D.W.

Canadian miner Consolidated Uranium announced on Monday (04.11.2022) that it will launch a new uranium exploration program at Laguna Salada in Chubut province, southern Argentina.

The company said in a statement that, if it obtains the necessary permits, it plans to launch a systematic exploration program this month at the so-called La Rosada target in the Laguna Salada project area.

“We are excited to start this program at Laguna Salada, which represents the first work on the project since 2012,” said company CEO Philip Williams.

La Rosada is located approximately 40 kilometers from the Guanaco and Lago Seco regions, which are also part of the Laguna Salada project.

According to Williams, La Rosada has similar geology and mineralization to the Guanaco and Lago Seco zones, so the new target “offers potential.”

“Our plan is to systematically define the extent of potential uranium and vanadium mineralization, which is the first step in advancing potential drilling on the project,” he said.

Laguna Salada is an advanced exploration project located in the central part of Chubut province.

Last December, Consolidated Uranium announced the acquisition of the Laguna Salada project from the also Canadian U308.
