EFE.- Russia announced this morning sanctions against approximately 100 Canadian citizens, including senior government officials, businessmen, activists, financial institutions, media correspondents and actors such as Jim Carrey, said the Foreign Ministry.

These citizens do not have the right to enter Russia “in response to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s regime’s practice of imposing sanctions on Russian leaders, politicians and parliamentarians, the business community, experts and journalists, cultural figures, and anyone deemed objectionable by the Russophobic Canadian authorities”.

The measure was taken reciprocally, Russian diplomacy said in a statement.

Among those sanctioned are the head of the Canadian Communications Security Authority, Caroline Xavier, the premier of Alberta, Danielle Smith, the former premier of the province of Quebec Jean Charest and the former attorney general , Cabinet Minister and Member of the House of Commons, Peter Gordon MacKay.
