The cloud video game service will shut down on January 18 after failing to achieve the expected success.

Google announced on Thursday that it would close its cloud video game service on January 18 stadiumafter failing to achieve the number of users and “expected traction” the company was hoping for.
In one blog post of the firm, the director of the service and vice president of the company, Phil Harrison, explained that Google will return the money invested in the games and orders of the firm via the Stadia store in mid-January.
The service launched in closed beta in December 2018 and allows video games to be played without “hardware”, such as a console, to support it, since the service is delivered in the cloud, an approach that other companies such as than Microsoft through its Game Pass.
The firm stressed in its press release that the technology developed for the service will be reused in areas such as augmented reality, YouTube or Google Play.
The service had been declining dedicated users and projects for months and in August Google had to refuse to shut it down.
