La Merced Hospital has integrated new digital X-ray equipment

The “Dr. Nicolas Lozano” hospital in Mercy It has new state-of-the-art digital radiography equipment that allows high-definition image studies to be carried out.

The equipment was purchased with funds from the national Redes program, it is of Canadian origin, brand SG HEALTH CARE- Model E7239X, with an investment of more than 9 million dollars.

Commissioning the equipment allows high-accuracy diagnoses to be made without the need to refer the patient to a more complex facility for the study.

In this regard, the Minister of Public Health, Jean-Joseph Etienne, said that “diagnostic imaging services are being modernized with funds from this excellent national program. Recently, two new pieces of equipment have already been installed in the hospitals of Santa Victoria Oeste and Colonia Santa Rosa”.

In addition, the official maintained that with the incorporation of high quality digital technology, the use of cassettes and x-ray plates is avoided.

The general director of the hospital, Darío Flores, said that “the team comes to respond to the community and to the professionals, allowing us precise diagnoses for the definition of the pathology, the control, the follow-up and the evolution” .

“Similarly, it promotes communication with patients in understanding their health issues through the use of images to explain the diagnosis,” he added.

The hospital is in charge of a community made up of 15,500 inhabitants, 85% of this population is urban and the rest is rural.

The establishment, of the second level of complexity, is in charge of the health posts of San Agustín and Sumalao. In addition, it provides medical assistance to the municipal posts “25 de Mayo” and “El Huaico”, with the aim of generating the accessibility of the community to the public health system.

Flores said the hospital’s health services are “family doctor care, medical clinic, pediatrics, dentistry, laboratory, nutrition, psychology, nursing, primary health care, cardiology control and ambulance service for patient transfers”.
