Athletics: Andre De Grasse and Canada steal gold in the United States in the 4x100m relay

The United States expected another totally golden day for their athletes in the speed tests, however, they did not have the experience of Andre De Grasse who was responsible for closing the relay and overcoming Marvin Bracy in a great duel to win the gold medal.

From the first 100 meters, the Canadians came out with an advantage and in the deliveries they managed to stay ahead with a fierce battle with the teams of the United States and Great Britain. The key was in the last relay, a slight hesitation from Elijah Halll to hand over the job to Marvin Bracy was enough for De Grasse to come unstuckthere was no way to stop it despite the American’s great effort, which could do nothing to prevent Canada’s victory in the relay.

The Maple Leaf team of Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney and Andre De Grasse stopped the clock at 37.48while the United States came second with a score of 37.55, the best of the year for them. Third place went to Great Britain, who climbed back onto the podium in third place with a score of 37.83.

Thus ended the penultimate day of activities at the World Championships in Athletics, with Americans and Canadians claiming victory in spectacular 4×100 relay finals at Oregon 2022.
