Pelosi’s husband released from hospital days after attack

The husband of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, He was released Thursday from the hospital in San Francisco where he was recovering from the attack suffered last Friday.

Paul Pelosi, 82, underwent surgery for a fractured skull and other injuries he sustained after a man entered his residence in the California town and attacked him with a hammer.

In a statement, the Democratic lawmaker said her husband “will continue to be under medical care as he continues to progress through a lengthy recovery process.” and asked for privacy for himself and his family.

The alleged perpetrator, David DePape, was arrested by authorities the same day as the attack. and pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to the charges against him, including assault and attempted kidnapping.

The Democratic lawmaker’s husband is already back home and the family are expected to give further details of his condition on ThursdayCNN advanced.

DePape, a Canadian national, entered the United States legally via Mexico, but was expired his stay in the country for 14 years.

The attacker broke into the Pelosi’s San Francisco home screaming “Where’s Nancy?”even though the member was in Washington at the time.
