Express Entry is the primary means by which the Canadian government grants permanent residency to skilled workers through a points system. Currently, after two years of health contingency, the authorities have become more flexible on the issue.
Proof of this is the most recent measure approved by the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Who will take into account all these studies carried out remotely during the pandemic for the Express Entry scoring.
Normally, distance learning is not eligible for Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. But, thanks to this new update, programs completed online between March 2020 and August 2022 will be considered for Express Entry.
The main requirement for this new measure is to have obtained a Canadian online degree, diploma or certificate during the eligibility period. Therefore, if you have the opportunity to apply at this time, we inform you that IRCC asks applicants to update their Express Entry profile as soon as possible.
To do this, three new questions must be answered in the Educational background section, which refer to the studies/training carried out during this period. This new short quiz is made with the aim of increasing your chances of being invited to the next Express Entry draw.
IRCC holds Express Entry draws approximately every two weeks, so if you are looking to boost your score to immigrate to Canada, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
Don’t forget that you can always consult the Official page IRCC for more information.
