Mexico wants to receive more Canadian tourists

The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico has developed a working tour in Canada, where he held meetings with the various leaders of the sector.

Thus, with the Consul General of Mexico in Vancouver, Berenice Díaz Ceballos, Head of the Ministry of Tourism, Sector, held meetings with the Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports of British Columbia, Melanie Mark , exchanging information with increasing tourism between the two countries.

In this way, Mark thanked the Secretary of Tourism for his visit and his interest in Vancouver, and invited him to strengthen this exchange with all of Canada. He acknowledged that there is important work to be done to reactivate tourism in Canada, and highlighted that Mexico is an example for its policies that have enabled it to recover quickly.

Secretary Torruco Marqués said his government’s policy is based on making tourism a tool for social reconciliation.

Secretary Torruco also met with Keith Henry, President and CEO of the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada, with a view to undertaking Indigenous tourism projects in Mexico.

There they agreed on the importance of dignifying and strengthening indigenous communities that are of great value to cultures and a fundamental part of our roots, and different projects will be analyzed to undertake ethnic and natural tourism in Mexico .

Torruco also spoke with Marsha Walden, President and CEO of Destination Canada, about trends in bilateral relations between the two countries, collaborative agreements that will boost tourism activity.

Representatives of destinations in Mexico presented their tourist attractions and products.
