BERLIN (AP) — Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin qualified for the third round of the German Cup on Wednesday.

Canadian winger Alphonso Davies sealed Bayern’s move with a 5-2 win at Augsburg, which however required a comeback to materialise.

Mads Pedersen stunned the visitors in the ninth minute and scored for Augsburg, but Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting netted a brace and provided an assist for Joshua Kimmich’s goal in Bayern’s response.

An own goal from Dayot Upamecano revived Augsburg’s hopes in the 6th minute, but Jamal Musiala sealed the result with a superb shot from the far post in the 74th.

Thomas Müller came on as a substitute and provided Davies for the fifth stoppage goal.

Dortmund advanced to the third round with a 2-0 victory over second division Hannover.

Teenager Youssoufa Moukoko forced Bright Arrey-Mbi to score an own goal in the 11th minute and 19-year-old Jude Bellingham sealed victory with a penalty in the 71st.

Dortmund were looking for a performance that would restore confidence after just two wins in their last eight games in all competitions – the nature of Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Union remained stinging.

Paderborn eliminated Werder Bremen 5-4 on penalties, after drawing 2-2 in regular time and extra time.

Sandhausen also beat Karlsruher 8-7 in an 11-step shootout, after a 2-2.
