Wendy’s changed the historic red color in the woman’s hair from the logo to a gray tone

Canadian businesses show support for women with gray hair who in many places face discrimination be removed from their posts.

The fast food giant Wendy’s updated their profile pictures on social networks change the historic red hair color of the woman in the logo to a shade of gray.

Wendy’s Canada is the latest brand in support the former presenter of CTVNews Lisa LaFlamme, who made headlines last week for being fired unceremoniously by the media conglomerate Bell Middle.

In a video posted to social media, LaFlamme says she was “taken by surprise” when Bell Media terminated her contract with CTV National News after 35 yearsa “business decision” which he says will see the role of main presenter take “a different direction”.

The decision has sparked controversy in public opinion, which considers that LaFlamme should have had a good farewell and a career retrospective after 35 years in the business.

Dove Canada responded with a campaign in which encourage people to change their profile pictures to grayin support of those who decide to embrace their gray hair.

Gray-haired women are driven out of the workplace. So Dove turns gray. Together, we can help women age gracefully on their own terms. Join us: gray your profile picture and tag #KeepTheGrey,” reads a video posted by the brand on social media.

Dove also announced that it will donate $100,000 to catalysta Canadian organization that helps create inclusive workplaces for all women.

So far, the response to the Wendy’s and Dove campaigns has been mostly positive.
