If you are a Spanish speaker living in Canada and want to further your education, you can now study online for the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) bachelor’s degree.
The Coordination of the Open University Educational Innovation and Distance Education of UNAM has opened the call so that Mexicans and the Hispanic community residing in Canada or outside their country of origin have the possibility of continuing their studies .
The objective of this program is to give the migrant population the opportunity to go to high school, to continue their studies at a professional level in order to have better employment opportunities and social integration, both in their country of residence than in his country of origin.
From August 10 and until August 29, the link will be open so that those interested can upload their documents and start the process.
What are the steps to follow to register for the Baccalaureate online if you live in Canada?

To apply for this program, you must have the following documents:
- Birth certificate
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum GPA of 7
- Proof of residence
- CURP (if you are Mexican)
It is important to note that to enter the online high school courses you must complete and accredit three propaedeutic courses, pass an admission exam and be selected to begin your studies at UNAM.
The selection exam is face-to-face and takes place in places authorized by UNAM.

How is learning assessed?
The online and distance high school program has a total of 24 subjects in four fields of knowledge, social sciences, natural sciences, mathematics and humanities, which correspond to the interdisciplinary training that each student must have.
These 24 subjects are divided into 4 modules or semesters and 20 hours per week are required, one subject is studied at a time and the time to conclude each is 5 weeks. Students receive personalized support from teachers and online tutors.
An advantage of this modality is that there is no fixed schedule and you study from anywhere with a computer connected to high-speed Internet.
