Several shootings left 3 dead and 2 injured south of Vancouver.

The events occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in the town of Langley.

The suspect, a 28-year-old man identified by police on Monday evening, is among the dead after being shot dead by police.

At a press conference on Monday afternoon, police said the shooting took place over a six-hour periodstarting around midnight.

In the first shooting, near 203A St and Fraser Highway, a woman was injured and taken to hospital in critical condition.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., a man was shot dead at Creek Stone Place.

A second man was killed on the city bus loop on Logan Avenue at 5:03 a.m., police said.

Shortly after, at around 5:45 a.m., police found a fourth man with a gunshot wound to the leg near the Willowbrook Mall at 200 Street and Langley Bypass.

Around this time, police found and shot the suspect in the Langley bypass area.

Reports say shots may have been fired at several closed or vacant businesses during the incident.

At this time, the motive for the multiple South Vancouver shootings is not known, or whether there was a relationship between the deceased suspect and the victims.
