Bogotá, Sep 28 (EFE).- The III Breathe Art Forum, to be held from October 1 to 7 in Bogotá, will offer a program of artistic and academic activities on sustainability and the environment and will serve as the presentation of a guide to sustainable shows in the Colombian capital.
“With this third edition of the forum, we confirm our commitment to creating livelier scenarios and producing greener shows,” said the director in charge of the Regional Institute of Arts (Idartes), Carlos Mauricio Galeano, who is the organization organizing the forum. .
In this way, they want to chart “a path towards the development and creation of new, more sustainable formats that involve citizens with the commitment to achieve a neutral carbon footprint in our artistic events and experiences”, Galeano pointed out.
In the new edition of this forum, the design and implementation of practices that allow artistic productions and performances to be more in harmony with the environment will be discussed.
For this, it will bring together international panelists such as British actress Claire Buckley, director of the Center for Sustainable Practices in the Arts and Canadian producer Ian Garrett, and Spanish researcher Jordi Baltà Portolés.
Musical artists like Rubén Albarrán, from Café Tacvba; Héctor Buitrago and Andrea Echeverri of Aterciopelados, as well as the winning groups of the last edition of Petronio Álvarez, the biggest cultural festival in the Colombian Pacific.
PRESENTATION OF A GUIDE
As a novelty of this edition, Idartes will present the Bogotá Sustainable Shows Guide, a document that will allow the cultural sector “to guide the design and production actions of events in a more sustainable way”, reported the organization.
This presentation will be accompanied by a panel on the challenges that have been in other countries such as Spain, Canada or the United Kingdom in the implementation of similar guides and where lessons and learning will be exposed.
In addition, the amphitheater of La Media Torta will be presented as the first “pet friendly” cultural place in the capital, where animals will be able to access the event for free on October 1st.
