Canada returns and Spain to play South Korea – Davis Cup

Canadians Félix Auger-Aliassime and Vasek Pospisil beat the Spanish pair of Marcel Granollers and Pedro Martínez 4-6, 6-4 and 7-5, after coming back in a great match that gave the victory to the northern team -American and which obliges Spain to beat South Korea next Sunday to qualify for the final phase of the Davis Cup in Malaga.

The Spanish duo could not have started the decisive match of this confrontation better, breaking the service of Félix Auger-Aliassime, still swollen with emotion after his spectacular victory against Carlos Alcaraz half an hour earlier.

However, the Spaniards’ pulse quivered to close out the game and Canada earned the break when Pedro Martínez served to win. At 5-5, it was now Team North America who saw victory come one step closer after the emotional injection that staying in the game meant. Pospisil didn’t fail to serve and finished Spain with another break.
