Miguel Crispi will assume the position of new head of the councilors of the so-called second floor of La Moneda, after the resignation of Lucía Dammert from the position.

The leader of the councilors of the so-called second floor of La Moneda, Lucie Dammert, tendered his resignation to President Gabriel Boric.

This was confirmed Thursday by the Presidency press service, through a press release sent to the media.

“The President expresses, on his own behalf and on behalf of his entire government, the most sincere thanks to Lucía, both for her role in the presidential campaign and for these months spent in government; functions which he fulfilled with great dedication and professionalism”, underlines the text.

His position, meanwhile, will be occupied by the former Undersecretary for Regional Development, Miguel Crispi Serrano.

The possible reasons for the departure of Lucía Dammert from La Moneda

depending on the medium a priori, His departure was reportedly due to disagreements with the president’s chief of staff, Matías Meza-Lopehandía.

Similarly, the protagonism he adopted during the presidential tour of Canada, leaving even the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, She had already caused a “malaise” in a sector of the ruling party.

This, because despite the fact that the Chancellor does not formally militate in any party, she is very close to the Socialist Party.

Dammert, a security expert and doctor of political science from Leiden University in the Netherlands, took over as head of the “Second Floor” last March, with Boric’s arrival at La Moneda.

It should also be noted that between 2015 and 2016 she served as Head of the Studies Division of the Undersecretary of the Interior of the Chilean Ministry of the Interior and Public Security.
