AMLO proposes Carlos Joaquín as new Mexican Ambassador to Canada

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the governor of Quintana Roo, Carlos Joaquin Gonzalez will be offered as new Mexican Ambassador to Canada after his term ends.

During his morning press conference, the president revealed that in the past options were researched integrate the opposition politician into his government.

“He will represent us as Mexico’s ambassador to Canada, when we seek the approval of the Canadian government,” he said.

On August 24, the first federal executive reported that Carlos Joaquín work with your government once he steps down as governor of Quintana Roo, however, he did not give details of what position he would hold.

“Yes, Carlos Joaquín will work with us (…) he will work and he will help us,” he said at the time.

It should be noted that a day before the August 23 announcement, Governor Carlos Joaquín González and Governor-elect Mara Lezama signed on Tuesday the minutes of advances to formally start the works of receipt of delivery management 2016-2022.
