From Praza Vella, before reaching the port, one could already see the upper floors of the Seven Seas Navigator cruise ship moored at the Curuxeiras pier. And this ship has been anchored there since early yesterday morning, Friday, until 8 p.m. Throughout the day, cruise passengers and crew roamed the streets of Ferrol, before heading for the Portuguese city of Porto.

This is the case of Julieta, a Canadian who travels the world with her husband. As soon as she disembarked in the naval city, the first thing that surprised her was the good weather: “We had been raining and cold for several days, so this weather finally encourages us to get off the ship a bit”, said she explained. A trip as intense and long as a trip around the world could in no way discourage Julieta, who throughout the day yesterday accompanied her husband on several excursions. From the morning he had not yet decided on the points that interested him most in Ferrol, and that is why he commented that “what I like most when I arrive in a new city is is to visit the tourist office, because that’s where they can best help me. advise me”.

But not all the tourists who strolled through the harbor yesterday embarked on a pleasure trip: Robert, Amelia and Cameron are on full six-month contract as entertainers aboard the Seven Seas Navigator. These three young people are dancers and singers and they recognize that their “work is very hard, especially the first month, because you feel a little confined”. This is the first experience of its kind for Robert, from Louisiana, and Cameron, from California, who have just finished their studies and were looking for their first job. Amelia, from Canada, already has a little more experience, but admits that “we were very lucky to meet each other, making friends is one of the good things about this job”. For them, the priority on this rest day in Ferrol is clear: “We know you eat very well here, and we want to try all the new dishes we can.” Cameron is particularly happy, commenting that “seafood is my favorite food and I’ve been told in Ferrol it’s delicious”.
