The show, which will run until June 5, offers “an open critique of the means of communication; the means of cultural production, information and education, and the mechanisms used to control and influence public opinion in imposing a hegemonic discourse within the population”.
To carry it out, the young company La Canadiense takes advantage of certain events that have occurred throughout the history in Spain of “media manipulation and how these have generated an imprint on the collective unconscious”.
Setting in motion the 10 strategies of media manipulation by Noam Chomsky and disinformation by Pascual Serrano, the performers will accompany the public on this media journey.
La Canadiense bets on a multidisciplinary piece close to the form of Atirohecho in which different scenic languages are played with -physical and textual theater, live music, audiovisual- in “a context of living arts with exaggeration and satire as a mechanism of approximation of reality”, informs the room in a press release.
The performers are Carmen Asecas, Rubén Cerdà-Bacete, Carla Chillida, Arantxa Cortés, Marc Estrellat, Francesc Romeu, Benja Prati and Hu Zhao, under the direction of Carla Chillida.
