Canada's 27th medal and ninth gold make Paris the most successful non-boycotted Summer Olympics in its history

Katie Vincent's victory in the women's 200m canoe final on Saturday wasn't just her second medal of the Paris Olympics: it helped break two Canadian records.

The country won its 25th medal and eighth victory, breaking national records for a non-boycotted Summer Games. Phil (Wizard) Kim, who won gold in the break, and men's 800m silver medallist Marco Arop pushed Canada's record to 27.

The previous mark was reached three years ago in Tokyo and included seven gold medals.
