Concordia University of Canada took first place in the University of Navarra Business Case Competition (UNICC). After six days of competition, the students, divided into 16 teams, participated in a 12-hour final which took place at the Tres Reyes Hotel in Pamplona and at the El Sadar stadium. The four finalist teams had to present a business proposal on how to increase Osasuna's revenues, relying on internationalization and digitalization.
More than 60 students from 15 universities from nine countries participated in this unique event among Spanish universities and organized by students of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Navarra since 2013.
After Concordia University, Wilfrid Laurier University, also Canadian, is in second place; in third place, the Chinese University of Hong Kong; and fourth, the University of California at Berkeley. The teams came, in addition to Canada, Hong Kong and the United States, from Spain, Lebanon, Norway, Portugal and the Netherlands.
Solve real business problems
For six days, the university students tried to solve, in addition to Osasuna, cases of companies such as Cashfana and Veridas and presented their solutions to a jury composed of professionals from the companies themselves and renowned consulting firms. Members of entities such as Viscofan, Telefónica, Glovo, McKinsey & Company, Veridas, Siemens Gamesa, Cashfana, Grupo La Información, Deloitte, World Football Summit, Congelados de Navarra and Osasuna judged the students' proposals.
