The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, through its boss, Marie-Claude Bibeau, announced the opening of a new call for the Clean Agricultural Technologies Program (ACT), which aims to helping Canadian farmers move toward a more sustainable and sustainable economy. productive agriculture.

This new call to ACT's Adoption Branch will provide non-repayable grants ranging from CA$25,000 to CA$2 million to enable agricultural producers to purchase and install equipment that reduces gas emissions greenhouse effect (GHG) or offer other environmental benefits.

The ACT program focuses on three priority areas: green energy and energy efficiency, precision agriculture and bioeconomy solutions.

To date, 249 projects have been announced under the ACT program, totaling $95.8 million. For example, Entosystem Inc. of Drummondville received $2 million through the ACT Adoption Department to acquire and install cutting-edge, energy-efficient technologies and equipment to optimize the production of energy-based products in insects intended for animals. production of nutrition and fertilizer. Minister Bibeau took the opportunity to announce the opening of the new application period during the inauguration of the company's new facilities.

This new call from the ACT Adoption Directorate will prioritize investments that address environmental sustainability and have the greatest potential to generate measurable reductions in GHG, fertilizer and methane emissions, consistent with objectives of the Government of Canada.
