The Sacyr Foundation presents its Innovation Trophies

The Anglo-Israeli firm Valeran won the thirteenth edition of the The Innovation Trophies awarded by the Sacyr Foundation.

In this edition, the Sacyr Foundation rewarded the solution presented by this company to increase the security and sustainability of infrastructure.

There Valerann’s proposal is the one that best adapts, among the 205 presented, to one of the three challenges launched by Sacyr as part of its open innovation program Sacyr iChallenges.

Furthermore, The Sacyr Foundation awards two second prizes to the Canadian firm Meaning of the Kraken already latvian SPH Engineering.

The awards ceremony, hosted by the journalist White angelshad the participation of Sergio Alvarez-Teleñaeconomist and doctor of computer science, and one of Europe’s leading experts in artificial intelligence and advanced transformation.

Valeran offers a traffic management platform forward-thinking and highly intelligent.

Through data analysis, it helps improve response capacity, generate automated actions and communicate relevant information to infrastructure users.

The solution provided by Valerann responds to the proposal launched via Sacyr iChallenges concerning the Challenge to increase the safety and sustainability of our linear infrastructures.

Access to Kraken Sense and SPH Engineering

The Canadian firm Meaning of the Kraken won second place at the Sacyr Innovation Awards thanks to its technology for real-time detection of pathogens and contaminants in wastewaterthanks to the automation of the sampling process and the quantification of micro-organisms at trace levels.

Kraken Sense responds with its solution to The challenge of detecting contaminants of concern in water treatment plants.

For its part, SPH Engineering received a second prize at Construction Challenge, which aimed to deepen knowledge of geotechnical and topographical features of the field from the early stages of projects.

The Latvian firm was recognized for its GPR and drone airborne bathymetry solution.

Through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles with integrated sensors, it offers the possibility of carrying out bathymetric surveys in areas that are difficult to access and operate.

205 proposals from 34 countries

Each year, the Sacyr Foundation rewards the best initiatives presented by the innovative community at the Sacyr iChallengesSacyr’s open innovation program.

Sacyr iChallenges is one of the pillars of innovation strategy and business transformation, based on commitment to teamwork and co-creation with the innovative ecosystem globally.

There international participation increased this year by almost 40%, with proposals from 34 countries.

Besides Spain, in terms of volume of registered proposals, stand out: United States, Canada, Israel, Finland, United Kingdom and South Korea. Sacyr iChallenges has consolidated its presence in English-speaking countries, which represent 27% of the proposals in this edition.

On the other hand, this year The number of innovative agents with more than 10 years of experience increased by more than 40%.

Sustainable solutions

With this open innovation program, Sacyr is looking for travel companions with whom to promote sustainable solutions that help improve quality of life citizens through better infrastructure.

All proposals received were evaluated by a committee of experts composed of managers from Sacyr’s different business sectors.

Over the past six years, the program has accumulated a total of 1,500 proposals of innovative agents from all regions of the world. Technological solutions that responded to the challenges of all the group’s activities.

During the six years of the programwere realized around twenty pilot projects with success.
