Thanks to victories against Curaçao and Guatemala in the Nations League, Panama only has the United States and Mexico ahead of it.
The Panama national team achieves a historic position in the Concacaf team rankings, thanks to victories against Curacao and Guatemala in the Concacaf Nations League.
The red team positions itself as the third best team in the region, behind the United States and Mexico, leaving Canada behind.
With 1,750 points, Panama took the place that previously belonged to the Canadians after adding 27 points in this edition of the ranking.
Canada, for its part, after the 4-1 defeat against Japan and having played only one match since its defeat in the quarter-finals of the Gold Cup on July 9, could have wreaked havoc on them.
The Canadians dropped to fourth place after dropping nine points and adding 1,729 points so far.
The United States remains in the lead with 1,967 (13 points added) and Mexico, despite losing eight points in this edition, is in second place with 1,909 points.
It should be noted that this ranking is different from that published by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
In the list of the highest sporting entities in the world, Panama occupies fourth place behind the United States, Mexico and Canada, in that order.
The next edition of the FIFA rankings will be released on October 26, so there may be news regarding Panama’s position.
