The Consul of Canada in Monterrey and the North of the country, Sandra Shaddick, visited the city of Chihuahua where she said that her country is facing certain situations that are occurring in the state of Chihuahua, which could therefore be a area of opportunity to work together.
The diplomat pointed out that one of the priority issues is that of environmental problems, which is why careful work is being carried out on waste management.
Sandra Shaddick pointed out that Chihuahua and Canada have many things in common, such as the relationship between land and people, because they are very large territories, but sparsely populated.

“The parameters and growth trends are very similar, it is much easier to go further and build a building or a house, but the result is that very scattered cities are created,” he pointed out. .
Likewise, he stressed the need to deepen the similarities and knowledge of cities like Chihuahua and Ottawa, in order to solve certain problems together.
In a meeting held with the Secretary of Urban Development and Ecology, Gabriel Valdez, Sandra Shaddick shared some common interests between the State of Chihuahua and this North American country.

In this sense, the State official explained that three issues were discussed in which there could be collaboration between the two governments; the issue of housing and mobility, controlled landfills and waste management, as well as the use of technologies for certain commercial activities.
Gabriel Valdez said that this opens the doors to cooperation because of the interest in sharing good practices, experiences and establishing a work agenda.
“We discuss issues of common interest to the Canadian government that she represents, with us these include issues of urban development, environmental issues and mobility; she worked with other cabinet secretaries and on that occasion we discussed topics of interest in those areas,” he said.
He stressed that there is a lot of Canadian investment in Chihuahua and that it is important for governments to work together to strengthen these commercial relationships and establish the best scenarios for investors and businesses in general.
