Personalities from the mining sector will be present at PERUMIN 36.

The forum in charge of the partner country will take place on September 25 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will see the participation of experts from the sector.

PERUMIN 36’s partner country, Canada, will present the forum “Canadian Leadership in Sustainable and Climate-Smart Mining”. It will take place on the first day of activities of the Mining Convention, which will take place at the Cerro Juli Convention Center in Arequipa, from September 25 to 29.

The forum, which will take place in the Plenary Hall of PERUMIN 36, Room David Ballón, will be freely accessible to all Perumin participants and will include a main conference and two discussion panels.

The purpose of these sessions is to communicate the strategy of the Canadian government and its Department of Energy and Natural Resources to promote efficient economic growth, with mining as a wealth-generating activity, and a solid sustainability and socio-environmental management in the country. territory.

“Canada is a global leader in responsible and sustainable mining, setting international standards and practices in the minerals and metals value chains. In this sense, we have incorporated this space for all congress attendees so that they can learn about the strategies deployed by our allied country to continue generating development,” said Miguel Cardozo, president of PERUMIN 36.

During the “Clean and Smart Mining” conference, current trends, innovative technologies and the sustainable and responsible management of mining resources will be discussed.

During the panels, issues related to decarbonization will be addressed, with a focus on energy transition and water management, taking into account the efficient use and reuse of water resources.

The forum to be hosted by Canada will see the participation of various experts, including the Canadian Ambassador to Peru, Louis Marcotte; director and founder of Bridge, Siri Genik; the deputy director of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Tomas Cabanillas, among others.
