Russia attacks infrastructure in Ukraine’s Danube region

Russia a drone bombed several industrial sites on the banks of the Danubein a region of southwestern Ukraine bordering Romania, a NATO member country which has denounced an “unjustified” aggression.

After the suspension of the agreement which allowed the export of Ukrainian cereals via the Black Sea, Moscow increased the bombardments in this region, where there are ports and other infrastructures necessary for trade.

“The enemy attacked civilian industrial infrastructure in the Danube region”, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said on Telegram. “The attack left two injured, who were hospitalized,” he added.

According to the prosecutor, Ukrainian forces managed to shoot down 22 of the 25 drones used in the attack.

The Russian military, for its part, has indicated that carried out a drone strike against the port of Reni, on the border with Romania.

“Tonight, the Russian army carried out a grouped drone attack against fuel storage facilities used to supply Ukrainian army military equipment in the port of Reni”, the army said. All the targets “have been hit”, it added.
