The interim President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, this Tuesday recognized the “feat” of the Spanish athletes Álvaro Martín and María Pérez, world champions in the 35 and 20 kilometer walks, at the same time as he underlined the “trajectory ” of the two athletes, to whom he wished good luck for the Paris 2024 Games.
“We are here to recognize the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA), and in particular Álvaro and María, for the feat they achieved at the World Championships in Budapest (Hungary). They are double champions of walking, which is one of the disciplines where Spain always shines. I wanted to thank them for these medals and their sporting career, and I wish the whole Spanish delegation all the luck in the world for what happens,” said Sánchez de La Moncloa.
