Following the general trend in neighboring municipalities, voters in Villanueva of Canada placed their trust in People’s Partywhich turned out to be most voted formation in the call to General elections held yesterday. An election day that recorded a turnout of 78’61% (11,909 votes) and one 21.38% abstention.

So the People’s Party Obtained 6,375 votes, 53.88% of the population having the right to vote. This figure represents an increase of 19.34 points compared to the November 2019 elections, when they garnered the support of 3,697 votes.

For its part, VOICE positions itself as the second most voted political force in Villanueva de la Cañada: 2,384 votes who represent 20.15% of the electoral population. However, Santiago Abascal’s party is losing momentum in the city compared to previous elections and loses 6’52 points.

PSOE obtains a third position with 1,919 votes (16.22%), a figure up 0.46 points from the 2019 call, then Sánchez obtained the support of 15.76% of voters with 1,687 ballots in his favor.

As for ADDthe left-wing coalition led by Yolanda Díaz entered these legislative elections, obtaining 7.86% of the votes of the inhabitants of Villanueva de la Cañada (931).

At the community level, in Madrid, Nuñez Feijóo succeeded in making the People’s Party the most voted political formation, obtaining 15 representatives in Congress, five more than in the 2019 elections, with 40.5% of the vote. Sánchez’s PSOE won representation in the Lower House with 11 seats (27.9%), one more than in the previous ones. SUMAR reaches 6 deputies (15.4%) and VOX with 14%, obtains 5 with which it loses 2 representatives.
