Nicholas Latifi announced his retirement from Formula 1, after not racing this season and spending three unlucky seasons at Williams from 2020 to 2022.
Latifi is not remembered for any good career or iconic moment he had with williams in F1.
The Canadian pilot is remembered because he was one of the main protagonists in this battle that they had max verstappen And Lewis Hamiltonwhere his crash determined much of the luck that gave the Dutchman the title and left the Brits without their eighth Formula 1 title.
This fact was very impressively experienced among fans of the F1 so much so that the Canadian driver received a series of threats for influencing this race and in turn the racer made certain decisions, including moving away from the car series a bit.
Now, after more than half a season in 2024, Latifi has communicated his decision that will retire from F1, aged 28to take another path in the business world.
Latifi posts farewell message
“Hi everyone. I know I haven’t spoken on social media this year. I’ve seen a lot of messages from fans around the world asking me what I’ve been up to and what my plans are for the future. I have some news that I would like to share with you all.
“I decided very early this year that I would not race in 2024. It was very strange not to have the same routine that I had for more than half my life,” commented Latifi.
And Latifi explained that “It’s not necessarily a goodbye to the racing world forever. Racing has been my life since I was 13 and it’s still something I’ve been passionate about. However, I felt this year might be a good time to explore and look for other opportunities in my life.”
