On June 19, a first team of Mexican firefighters traveled to the province of Ontario, on the east coast of Canada.
The government of Mexico has sent a new contingent of around 100 firefighters to deal with the forest fire emergency in canada.
Authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ERS) explained that the band is made up of 100 fighters and two technicians.
This action was taken in response to a request from the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Center (CIFFC) to receive more international support.
The contingent was sent on the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who recognized the complex situation in Canada during weeks.
People who have been to this country have “the experience, the physical condition and the training required to stay in the field as long as necessary”.
Second contingent of firefighters
On June 19, a first team of Mexican specialists went to the province of Ontario, on the east coast. Currently It is divided into five brigades who work in the Dryden and Sudbury areas.
Their actions include:
- Installation of water pumping systems
- Follow-up and resolution of hot spots
- Opening firewalls and direct attack
