A Colombian showed what his job in Canada was like while washing the dishes: ‘You don’t rest for a minute’

There are many Colombians who decide to leave the country to seek a better futureIn this journey, people have to do jobs they never imagined, because few are lucky enough to get a good job in a short time.

According to a report submitted by the Conflict Analysis Resource Center (CERAC)more than 547,000 people left Colombia in 2022, which means that the average number of Colombians leaving the country each year since 2012 has increased by 2.7 times, or better, than one in a hundred Colombians left the country.

Among all the people who have left Colombia in search of a better future, there are Alejandro Castro Adua young man who works in Canada and that he shared his experience through a video on the TikTok platform.

In the video, Alejandro explained that he works in the North American country as a dishwasher, for which he earns 148 Canadian dollars, which in Colombian pesos would be 500,000.

“Well, here I show you what my day looks like as a dishwasher here in Canada.”

According to data shared by Castro, his routine starts at 9:30 a.m.but when you arrive at work there are already dishes ready to be washed, since the restaurant opens from 7:00 a.m., “I arrive at 9:20 a.m. My schedule as such starts at 9:30 a.m. The restaurant opens at 7:00 a.m. so there are already dishes when I arrive”.

Alejandro’s work is not limited exclusively to washing dishes and utensils such as pans and cutting boards that are used to prepare food, as he must also empty the trash and lift boxes that empty during the day.

“To be able to start doing the dishes I have to go and wash the bins and some boxes that they always put in the middle when the orders arrive, so I recycle”.

To do the dishes, the young Colombian has several machines that make his job a little easier, since he can use hoses with pressure jets and a giant dishwasher that washes the dishes.

“Here I start like this at 9:37 am, organizing the dishes, the good thing is that I have a pressure jet that squirts hot water and this giant machine helps me wash them much faster.”

After spending the first part of his day cleaning the kitchen, taking out the trash and bringing the cardboard to the recycling bins, Alejandro has time for lunch and fifteen minute breakand although the day is exhausting, this little break helps him recharge his energy to continue his work.

“Again we brought cardboard as food orders came in and here’s my happy hour, lunch and fifteen minute break and we’re back to volleyball, arranging cutlery and clean up.”

In the video, Alejandro confessed that at one point during the day he felt exhausted from work, but with a good attitude and the desire to move forward, he resumed his work, “he Turns out here I was tired and couldn’t live my life, but I had to keep going.”

Already with the weight of the exhausting day on him, Castro shared one of the thoughts that makes him regain his strength, as he assured that, although he has no time to rest, all that he does is with love and care, so he keeps looking forward to finishing your job.

“You don’t rest for a single minute, always with love and affection in everything you do.”

After eight hours of washing dishes, picking up and washing mats, lifting order boxes and keeping the kitchen clean, Alejandro ended his day leaving everything in order and with clean dishes, a reflection of the history of thousands of Colombians who hope to offer him a better future for their families.

“5 and 14, look how I leave everything organized, perfect and that’s it. 5:30 p.m. and it’s over.”
