MADRID, June 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Spanish tennis player Rebeka Masarova qualified on Tuesday for the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg tournament (Germany), in the WTA 250 category and which is played on grass, thanks to her serious victory 6-3, 6- 2 against Canadian Bianca Andreescu.
In just over an hour, Masarova defeated the tournament’s fifth seed. In the first set, after winning her serve in white, the Spaniard broke the opponent’s turn of service and once again consolidated this advantage in white (3-0). Quietly, Masarova scored the opening set in 35 minutes.
Although the Canadian started the next set more in tune, saving a break point in the opener, she gave up her serve in the fifth game (3-2) and was already completely faltering. Masarova broke again in the seventh (5-2) and certified her victory by winning against the whites just after.
In the quarterfinals, the Spaniard will face American Emma Navarro, who in her round of 16 engagement beat France’s Alizé Cornet 7-5, 7-6(6) in a duel that lasted two hours and 22 minutes. .
