Three races and a thousand runners, this Saturday at La Media San Fermín

With just under two weeks left before the start of the San Fermín festivities, Pamplona will host this Saturday afternoon an event that aims to be a sports and popular aperitif of this festive atmosphere that the Navarrese capital will know in a few days.

San Fermin Media -direct heir to what was the first asphalt marathon held in Pamplona: the San Fermín Marathon- returns to the streets of the city center, with more than a thousand runners spread over the three distances that make up the racing program of this event, organized by Grupo La Información with the technical direction of M2 ​​Eventos and Brandok and the sponsorship of Caja Rural de Navarra, Hyundai Automóviles Zaray, IMQ-Clínica San Miguel Verleal, Aena, the Town Hall of Pamplona and Government of Navarre.

TOURISM AND SPORT

Events over 21, 10.5 and 5.5 kilometers which, beyond the sporting objectives (chip timing will be carried out by specialists in Navarra Athletics Federation), they also want to serve to promote the city and attract tourism linked to the values ​​that sport cherishes, showing some of the most emblematic corners of the capital and visiting some of its main green spaces.

Indeed, among those registered for this edition, there are runners of 10 different nationalities – if last year the presence of Brazilian runners stood out, this time there is a group of Canadians and another group of Mexicansfor example- and about thirty Spanish provinces.

Once this race is over, in which the participants will receive a medal and a runner’s bag after crossing the finish line, as in the other two distances, the second of the tests will begin: El Calcetín, 10.5 kilometers They will start at 8:30:30 a.m. and are the most numerous event of this edition with more than five thousand registered. And, just 10 minutes later, the stars will be the more than 300 runners from La Alpargata who will start the 5.5 kilometer course.

Circuits which, by design, will allow spectators to be able to see the riders at different points without having to travel long distances. Also, just 300 meters from the finish line, runners can find the changing rooms and showers available to them at the Aquavox in San Agustín streeta point where, on this occasion and to further facilitate the comfort of the athletes after their effort, it will house the luggage room where they can leave their bags or backpacks before the race to pick them up later.

To go up to the center, on foot or by public transport due to traffic disruptions
