The Ministers of Commerce of Mexico, Raquel Buenrostroand of Canada, Mary Ng, have agreed to work to resolve differences on energy issues and to include Canadian mining companies in technical consultations on the mining reform.
In a statement, the Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development of Canada, Marie Ngsaid he met with Buenrostro where it was agreed to continue to resolve outstanding issues regarding the energetic policy Mexico and mining reform.
“Minister Ng thanked Secretary Buenrostro for her continued commitment to helping resolve issues related to Canadian investments in the energy sector and to be in favor of agreeing to involve Mexican mining companies with Canadian capital in the technical consultations and to commit to raising the concerns of Canadian companies,” he said.

Regarding his visit to Washington, Buenrostro said in a tweet that he “had a fruitful meeting with Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Mary Ng, @mary_ng, where he detailed the changes brought about by the Trade union congress in the field of mining.
“They also discussed the consultation process in the field of energy, of which they highlighted the important advances,” he said in a tweet.
The Mexican official met with the United States Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondoto talk about the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, which aims to encourage development poles in Oaxaca and Veracruz.
In addition, with Raimondo and Mary Ng, he participated in the North American Semiconductor Supply Chain conference.
