Canadian singer The Weeknd has changed his name on his social networks, abandoning his artistic designation to make way for his real name, Abel Tesfaye.
The changes were known this Monday after their official accounts of instagram And Twitter will be updated with the artist’s birth name.
ANDThe change is part of the singer’s alleged plan to ‘kill The Weeknd’as revealed in an interview with W Magazine on May 8, where he said he was “going down a cathartic path.”
“I come to a place and at a time when I am preparing to close the chapter on The Weeknd. I will continue to make music, maybe like Abel, maybe like The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to get rid of this skin and be reborn.”he said at the time.
The decision of the interpreter of “Save your tears” comes at important moments in his career, because according to Guinness World Records he is “statistically” the most popular musician on the planet.
