Judge drives another Yankees comeback against Rays and Urías leads Dodgers

Chicago (USA), May 13 (EFE).- The New York Yankees staged their second consecutive comeback against the Rays, this time with the good news of seeing the best version of Aaron Judge, who returned there was four days after overcoming the discomfort of his hip, in an MLB day in which Mexican Julio Urías also shone with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Cardinals staged another comeback of the day against the Red Sox who lost their series after giving up three runs in the final inning.

YANKEES 9-8 SPOKE

The Yankees rallied from a six-point deficit in a tremendous turnaround to beat the Rays. Between the fifth and sixth innings, the New Yorkers added up all their scores for a resounding 9-0.

Indeed, the team led by Aaron Boone did not need to strike in the last inning. It was Aaron Judge’s night with two two-run homers, recovering his best version since returning May 9.

Judge hit his first home runs since April 19 and is now in 29 multi-homer games.

Cuban Yandy Diaz hit his first career grand slam in the fifth inning. But Shane McClanahan was unable to maintain his team’s lead in the fifth inning.

TIGERS 0-5 SAILORS

Seattle rookie Bryce Miller stood out one more night, knocking out the Detroit Tigers in seven innings. He dried them and directed the small hand obtained by the sailors.

Jarred Kelenic and Teoscar Hernández homered, the first of two runs in the third inning and the second solo of the fourth.

An RBI single in the ninth, also signed by Hernández, with a score by compatriot Julio Rodríguez, plus another run by Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez, completed the final score of 0-5.

BLUE JES 5-2 BRAVE

Bo Bichette scored a single in the seventh inning and drove in the tying run that gave Toronto a 5-2 victory over Atlanta. It’s the Canadiens’ second straight win and the Braves’ first loss in a road series.

Atlanta was only able to score two runs in the second set, thanks to Dominican Marcell Ozuna getting a home run with a run also for Puerto Rican Eddie Rosario.

It’s Ozuna’s seventh RBI this season and his 12th RBI.

They rounded out the Blue Jays’ score by George Springer in the seventh inning and Whit Merrifield in the eighth. No at-bat was needed in the ninth for Toronto.

RED SOX 3-4 CARDINALS

Boston spoiled a spectacular start by Chris Sale, who went eight innings giving up only one run. It was Curacao’s Kenley Jansen who squandered that Red Sox lead in the ninth inning.

Nolan Gorman hit first for Paul Goldschmidt to score, and later, with Alec Burleson at bat, Wilson Contreras and Gorman added two more runs.

Another Nolan, in this case Arenado, also added his home run in the seventh inning, opening the scoring for those in San Luis.

DODGERS 4-2 PARENTS

The Dodgers again won the California Derby against the Padres for the second night in a row, with the same result. They add four straight wins this week, as well as four straight wins against San Diego.

Julio Urías made his third start of the season without a walk. He pitched seven innings in his fifth win of the course. He knocked out four batters and allowed only two runs.

The three-run homer made by JD Martínez in the first inning was also fundamental, marking the rest of the game. San Diego couldn’t score again starting in the third inning, previously scored by Juan Soto and South Korean Kim Ha-Seong.

WHITE SOX 3-1 ASTRO

It was a low-scoring game marked by great work from the mound by Chicago’s two main guaranteed-rate field pitchers. The game completed by Brandon Bielak, who pitched in five innings, allowed eight hits, only one run and struck out four batters, was for nothing.

Dylan Cease, for his part, pitched in six innings, allowing just four hits and no runs.

Chicago took the lead on a home run by Cuban Luis Robert Jr. Corey Julks tied in the seventh through Honduran Mauricio Dubón.

Already in the eighth inning, the White Sox added two more runs from Cuban Yoan Moncada and again, Luis Robert Jr.
