In the professional category, 15 international athletes participated and, at the end of the tournament, the champion was proclaimed Jose Paul Rolzof Guatemalawith a score of -11, second place was achieved Robert Lowenthalalso national, which scored -4.

In the women’s category, she highlighted Beatrice d’Areneswho is an amateur, and leads the group of Damas A.

In the games developed this weekend, it was done under the modality of 54 holes. In total, prizes of $17,000 were distributed among the winners of the tournament.

The tournament took place on two dates, the first participated the highest handicap categories, and at the second strongest meeting, the players in the category Championship A and B, as with ladies. At regional level, it is the tournament with the largest number of professional players (25), including 15 internationals, since they have participated in Mexico, France, Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela.

The chairman of the board of directors Mayan Golf Club, Antonio Ruest, pointed out that as a club they feel proud to have the biggest open tournament in central Americawhere professionals and amateurs mingle.

“This is a unique event in Central America and it takes place at the oldest club in Guatemala, which is over 104 years old. We continue to set the standard for what golf should be and where we will arrive,” he claimed.

The Club’s goal is to increase and improve the number of athletes at all levels, by being inclusive, working hand in hand with golf, mainly to be open so that all young people who want to know golf can come.
