Baja Californian Ericka Luque wins “Series A” Karate World Championship Gold Medal – El Mexicano

With a memorable performance and zero points against, the porteña demonstrated its quality on the Canadian World Cup tatami

ENSENADA.– Baja California athlete Ericka Luque wins the gold medal at the World Karate Federation (WKF) “Series A” World Championship held in Vancouver, Canada.

The one led by the coaches, Ramsés Rodríguez Arce and Estefanía García Álvarez, won the women’s individual kumite category of -61 kilograms, without receiving a single point against in all their fights.

Obtaining favorable results against the United States and Canada, the porteña managed to enter the final to defeat the powerful rivals of Belgium, leaving the score 2-0 in favor of the Mexican.

“We appreciate the support and attention received from our INDIA Manager, Erik Isaac Morales Elvira, as well as our FEMEKA President, Samantha Desciderio Olvera. Thanks to the momentum of both parties and the talent of the athletes, we were present at the event, obtaining an excellent result for Baja California”, said Rodríguez.

For his part, García Álvarez commented: “We are extremely happy and proud of our athlete Ericka Luque, who has achieved the goal of reaching the podium in first place. Moreover, he scored zero points against, a relevant situation that speaks to his tremendous quality as a karate fighter.”
