The Chicago Bulls eliminated the Toronto Raptors the first day of the NBA Play-in tournament.
The Illinois franchise won 109-105 over the Canadians thanks to an excellent performance from Zach Lavine.
Pascal Siakam (32 points) and Fred VanVleet (26) were Toronto’s shooters.
For their part, the Lavine duo, Demar DeRozan, scored 23 points, however, his last name became a trendbut this time for his daughter.
Although DeRozan’s performance was key to the Bulls’ victory, his baby girl was the franchise’s best card to qualify for the Playoffs.
Diar DeRozan took advantage of the Raptors’ high free throw count and hometown silence to “disturb” players with loud shouting.
The little girl was screaming loudly as her father’s rivals prepared to score free-kicks.
The result was convincing: Diar’s little cries left the mark for the Canadians at 18/36 personal.
With barely 50% efficiency, the Raptors lost valuable points that resulted in the knockout of the fight for the ring.
“Somebody missed a free kick. I look back and I’m like, ‘Damn, is that my daughter screaming? I just saw it went viral.DeRozan said at the end of the match.
DeRozan revealed that his daughter asked him to go to the game, which caused him to miss school.
“She called me the other day when I was coming out of school and said, ‘Dad, can I go to the Toronto game? I remember she went to every game in Toronto when I was a kid and I almost said no because I had school. But she kept asking. He insisted on coming to support and I said, “Okay. You can skip school for a day and come to this game,” the former Toronto player said.
“I’m glad I did. I owe you money, that’s for sure.” joked.
Diar’s “cheating” at the Raptors’ Scotiabank Arena helped her be considered the MVP (player of the game) by her father’s team.
