The Congress of the State of Nuevo León and the Canadian Commercial Association in Mexico signed this Thursday a collaboration agreement with the aim of strengthening commercial, cultural and legislative ties.
Mauro Guerra Villarreal, president of the board of directors of the Nuevo León Congress, and Jorge Alberto Arrambide Montemayor, representative of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, are those who signed the document.
Guerra Villarreal stressed that one of the main objectives of this agreement is to create a study group to promote bilateral trade, attract foreign investment and strengthen production chains, as well as sustainability and smart cities between the State of Nuevo León and the provinces of Canada.
“Gender equality and diversity in government and society will also be promoted, as well as a reduction in the wage gap between women and men, as well as legislative innovations between the State of Nuevo León and the provinces of Canada.
This exchange of experiences will be very useful since it will broaden the vision to better do the work of the deputies for the benefit of the citizens, taking into account what has already happened in other latitudes, assured the President of the Council of Administration of the State Congress.
Jorge Arrambide Montemayor, president of the Canadian Business Association in Mexico, said there was a lot to learn from experiences on different issues, trade, cultural, social and legislative, between Nuevo Leon and Canadians.
“With the signing of this agreement, with the formalization of this agreement, we will immediately get to work, the necessary contacts will be made for the exchange of parliamentary practices.”
He acknowledged the opening of the Nuevo León State Congress to formalize the agreement, which will go a long way in strengthening ties between Nuevo León and Canadians.
