MEXICO CITY, March 10 (EL UNIVERSAL).- As part of the 2023 Festival of Ideas, businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego presented his dinner accompanied by director James Cameron, famous for the movies Avatar and Titanic, which the owner of Elektra considered “a privilege”.

Thanks to Twitter, the founder of Grupo Salinas shared a video where we see him having dinner with his wife, María Laura Medina and the Canadian director; plus a few other people.

“A privilege to come and listen to one of the world’s greatest creative minds and enjoy a great dinner,” the tweet read.

What is the Ideas Festival?

The Puebla Ideas Festival is an annual event which is celebrated in the city of Puebla, Mexico. It is a platform for experts, opinion leaders, business people, artists, activists and the general public who come together to discuss, share and promote innovative ideas in different fields.

The festival is an initiative of the Ricardo B. Salinas Center and covers topics ranging from politics, economics, education, science and technology to culture, art and entertainment. Offers a series of conferences, round tables, workshops, artistic performances and cultural activities to engage the community and encourage dialogue and the exchange of ideas.

Who is James Cameron?

James Cameron is a Canadian filmmaker, environmentalist and explorer who has made some of the highest-grossing films in history, such as “Titanic” (1997) and “Avatar” (2009).

Born on August 16, 1954 in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada, Cameron began his career as a special effects artist, working on low-budget films like “Battle Beyond the Stars” and “Galaxy of Terror.” He gained international recognition with his hit, “The Terminator” (1984), which he wrote and directed.

Cameron continued to make hit films throughout the 1990s, including “Aliens” (1986), “The Abyss” (1989), and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991). His most successful film to date, however, was “Titanic” (1997), which won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.

In 2009, Cameron released “Avatar”, a sci-fi film set on the fictional planet of Pandora. The film broke several box office records and won three Oscars.
