Guadalajara hired the “Canadian Vampire” to train police

On October 14, the Guadalajara Acquisitions, Divestitures, Rentals and Services Committee unanimously approved the direct award of a training course by Vampiro Canadiense SA de CV

During the session, the representative of the requesting area of the Guadalajara police station justified the hiring, saying that the company owner had certifications and was going to “train a hundred police officers, and not only that, but they will be replicators of the knowledge they will learn.

“The police have received many direct attacks recently and we urgently need training in this regard,” he said.

According to the protesters, the training is also aimed at scholarship holders and began with the “course of the seven skills” at the academy located in Río Tizapán, which had already been taught last April.

For his part, the mayor of Guadalajara said that the training was not intended for self-defense, but for the application of prevention programs in the neighborhoods of Guadalajara, starting with Balcones del Cuatro.

He even recalled that when Zapopan ruled, they also hired Richard Hodgkinson, better known as the “Canadian Vampire”, to run programs that help reduce gang membership in popular areas.

“El Vampiro has been working with us for about four years, and what we do is that the training that El Vampiro is going to give to the police is a kind of connection between the young people and the Guadalajara police officers themselves- same,” Lemus mentioned.

His statement is inconsistent with the rationale that was given during the Tenders Committee session, since it was expected that the elements would be trained to defend themselves.

In 2014, the city council of Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, hired the “Canadian Vampire” to train its police officers.
