SAN DIMAS, Dgo. (OEM).- The Canadian company First Majestic Silver Corp and the ejido Guarizamey, in the municipality of San Dimas, Durango, resolved differences during a dialogue table on the conflict of the spoliation of water and have awaited the solution issued by the corresponding court.
Juan Carlos Gómez Aranda, spokesperson for the Canadian company, informed El Sol de Durango that the referendum had passed for the moment, explaining that last Friday, January 13, a dialogue table was set up between the residents and administrators of the mining company, seeking to reach agreements that would end the series of protests.
He explained that an agreement had been reached to reconnect, since initially the inhabitants of the place had diverted the river and after the agreements they themselves redid the connection.
Likewise, Juan Carlos explained that they had reached a good term, “the question of the communal dispute has been overcome, the strike has been resolved and the mechanisms for dialogue between the parties will continue”said.
As previously reported in El Sol de Durango, residents of the area demonstrated against the Canadian company First Majestic Silver Corp, which, based on apocryphal documents, said they were deprived of water for human consumption, in more to prevent the construction of a school in the community of Santa Rita, an issue which, according to the spokesperson for the mining company, has been resolved.
