MEXICO CITY, Jan. 31 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The Green Party will continue to be a firm ally of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador until the last day of his term, said Manuel Velasco, Green Party coordinator in the Senate.
During the plenary meeting in the Chamber of Deputies, he argued that support for the reforms promoted by the president has never been conditioned.
“We demonstrated that in every vote. And the Green Party bench was critical to delivering the president’s transformation agenda,” Velasco said.
“We did it without any conditions, we supported each of the reforms that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador promoted and we will continue to support him until the last day of his mandate”, he assured to applause legislators.
Manuel Velasco also called for prioritizing agreements, seeking consensus and “staying away from lawsuits”.
He stressed that 2024 will be a very important year for the country and his party, since they will have to work to define a project that represents them with a green agenda.
The senator said that this work must come from mayors, municipal presidencies, local legislatures, governments and even the Presidency of the Republic.
