25 cyclists from the United States and Canada undertake the Camino del Cid

A group of 25 cyclists from the United States and Canada plan to start the Camino del Cid this Saturday, from Burgos to Valencia. This activity has been organized by Iberocycle Holidays, a company based in Spain that designs tailor-made cycle routes for foreign groups and clubs, mainly Anglo-Saxons, interested in cycling through the Spanish geography. According to Simon Proffitt, manager of IberoCycle Holidays, the participants are part of the Bicycle Adventure Club, an American organization with which they collaborate to carry out quality bicycle trips through Spain.

The participants, whose ages range between 50 and 80, left the Cantabrian town of Santillana del Mar on Tuesday and, after stopping in Orbaneja del Castillo, will start the Camino del Cid on Saturday morning towards Valencia. During the trip, they will visit some of the most outstanding towns of the cidian route such as Santo Domingo de Silos; El Burgo de Osma or Medinaceli in Soria; Atienza, Sigüenza, Molina de Aragón and Checa in Guadalajara; The capital of Teruel and Albarracín, in Teruel or Montanejos in the province of Castellón. A total of fifteen stages crossing spectacular natural environments and towns with a vast historical and cultural heritage.
